Why Empire State Greenhouse is a Great Opportunity.

ESG is poised to build its first 100% renewable energy-powered, carbon negative certified organic crop factory. ESG’s advanced system of controlled environment agriculture, automated vertical growing systems, and strict organic practices in a carbon negative facility will grow far more high-quality produce, closer to major markets, in far less space than conventional means. ESG will mass-produce 40,000 pounds daily of up to 50 different types of NY grown & certified organic crops year-round in 100% renewable energy-powered greenhouses. Energy accounts for 35% of the embedded cost of food. All renewable energy will be produced on-site, eliminating energy costs, thereby unlocking margins. ESG integrates and scales Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) technology with renewable energy to mass produce fruiting crops, leafy greens, herbs, and mushrooms. The Biogas digester will remediate and convert dairy farm waste into natural gas, organic fertilizer, CO2 to fertilize the plants and will provide additional revenue streams from tipping fees and low carbon credits. This will also benefit local dairy farms struggling to comply with livestock waste disposal regulations. This “organic crop factory” will be 95-99% water efficient and will utilize proven renewable energy technologies in a unique closed loop system. ESG has executed a long-term lease-to-own agreement with SUNY Cobleskill for land as a START-UP NY partnership. Economic / Social / Environmental Impact:

Responsible, Radical, and Resilient. Empire State Greenhouses (ESG) builds beyond net zero, carbon negative Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) facilities focused on food safety and security, sustainability, combatting climate change, and the improvement of agricultural infrastructure and the environment. Not to mention, potential to create hundreds of jobs for a rural disenfranchised community. The nearby four-year college of agriculture and technology will serve as a workforce pipeline providing a lifetime of opportunity. ESG is unique in its focus on the nexus between energy and agriculture. Energy accounts for 35% of the cost of food. By producing all renewable energy on-site, ESG eliminates energy costs and unlocks margins. This is a new type of farming, a closed loop system using vertical, controlled environment agriculture, combined with renewable energy: a resilient food system with a carbon-negative footprint, this means ESG will actually remove CO2 from entering the atmosphere. ESG will use it to fertilize plants, helping them grow as they release clean oxygen into the atmosphere. The ESG system saves water, harnesses solar power, turns waste into energy, enhances food safety and security, lowers the cost of food, limits transportation needs, and delivers fresher, high-quality produce to nearby major markets.
